I love everything about Share our Strength and their commitment to ending childhood hunger. It was great seeing our community of eaters, volunteers, chefs and restaurant owners come together to support Share Our Strength at this year's Taste of the Nation Los Angeles.

Practically in tears reading the intro to this post. I've never had the chance to make it out to TOTNLA, but will for sure next year.
GORGEOUS photos as always!!! :)
Beautiful photos! of course, the one that I honed in on was the Leffe Blond. I miss my Leffe.
Love Share Our Strength - I can't imagine being hungry as an adult, let alone as a helpless child!! That is one great organization...
Oh, man. Just gorgeous. Every photo is a work of art.
I really like that everything is labeled, too -- so easy to see which chef created each dish.
Awesome.
Daily Gluttony...love this charity. Kids can't focus on a hungry stomach. We'll see you at TOTNLA next year. It's so worth it!
Jen...love the Leffe Blonde. You and Fuyu have to come next year!
Weezermonkey...thank you girl! The chefs and their teams did such an awesome job keeping us fed. No adult went hungry at TOTNLA.
I love your photos, but the part that touched me the most is the intro to the blog post.
My students often come in hungry and it is truly heartbreaking to think that the disgusting school lunch may be their one meal they get per day.
Very well said Jeni!
Absolutely stunning pictures! TOTNLA is such a great event...good food and good cause. And it was amazing to meet you that day :)
What a great cause...I will definitely try and make it out next year!
BTW...off topic, but I love your blue dress! Do you mind me asking where you got it?
LadyDucayne...kids can't learn on a hungry stomach. :(
food je t'aime...it was great meeting you too!
Irene...see you at TOTNLA next year. Oh..my dress...it's ELLA MOSS. It's my favorite summer dress!
What a great organization! How much were tickets to Taste of the Nation? I want to make it out next year!

Hi Oishii Eats,
Seriously, your photos and polish and presentation puts to SHAME the most restaurants' own attempts to sell their image / menu to their customers. :)
Each one of the Share Our Strength's participants should've paid you a fee because you just made everyone look like the best Michelin 3 Star Restaurant in Paris. :)
Great work, thoughts and pics. Thanks! :)
jeni, that intro truly hit a soft spot - what a sad reality. check.
food for thought. simple answer and yet the problem is so very BIG...
your work is absoulutely AMAZING! love the site.
Daniel...presale tix were $100, VIP tix were going for $150. Hope you make it out next year.
Exile Kiss...awww...thanks. You totally made my day!
Ookie...huge problem in our community. I know a lot of my students will be back at school this summer for their free lunch and snack. :( School lunches is another huuuge issue we need to fight.
Share Our Strength is an awesome cause. I heard an NPR story recently about how badly hunger affects kids' behavior and attention span in the classroom and how many teachers were bringing in food they brought with their own money. It's devastating!
On a lighter note, gorgeous pictures. I'm doing a little happy dance because you're posting more again :)
Nomsnotbombs...when my students come in hungry, they are cranky, agitated and emotional. I end up letting them sit in the back for a quick breakfast. Sometimes we try and find extra meal tickets and divide up the extra food. Knowing that you're doing a happy dance, I'll try and post more often. XOXO
Beautiful beautiful beautiful pictures!
I can't stop unraveling each post in your blog :D
