Hungry in Vietnam - Pho Bo Dac Biet

Pho Bo Dac Biet on Ly Quoc Su

Pho Boy

I honestly don't remember so many pho joints in Hanoi five years ago. And it also seems like pho bo (beef pho) has taken reign over the traditional northern pho ga (chicken pho). Bird flu influence? Probably. In any case, whether you love it or hate it, pho is your official meal in Hanoi.

Pho Bo Dac Biet was another joint close to our guesthouse. The 10000d (~62 cent) pho was ok. The broth was lacking in that usual pho soul that I'm used to. But we really enjoyed the freshness from their noodles. So delicate and soft. It was as if the noodles were patted with baby powder and sung a lullaby before being immersed in scorching hot pho broth.
