Oishii Eats off to Central America

My 23 Kindergarten kids drove me crazy this semester. One of my kids drew this picture of me. Wow, I didn't realize my hair was thinning. And I have fangs. Thinning hair and fangs are definite red flags.

I need a break!

I'll be backpacking Guatemala and Belize for the next couple of weeks. See everyone in January.

Take care of your hair and fangs.

love,
Jeni

Wow, backpacking! Have a great time!

Your kids must've really driven you crazy...just look at that portrait! Reminds me of these kid drawings that this guy Maddox critiques. Even though he seems (or is...) mean, it's pretty damn funny.

J, i think all 23 of your kids are future artists. Maybe they can work with the police department in drawing pictures of suspects. That drawing is pretty accurate haha. jk.

I know all of your students are always saying, "Miss J, she's so beautiful!" I bet that kid who drew that picture also thought she (or he) was drawing a wonderful representation of the best looking teacher around.

Thanks Kirk...I haven't been able to comment on your Urusawa posts. I haven't had time reading them all! Ooohh...

Christine...I love that guys' site. You should see me in the classroom...my kids learn what sarcasm means in their early years. "What the heck is this? Do people have blue skin???"

Pirikara...when are we gonna see you again? We missed you at Soundlessons!

Onefoodguy...I'm trying to use my "traveling on a budget" excuse as a way to lose weight. How lame is that. I hope to find some good eats!

BOLA...have a Merry Christmas. We'll see you next year! I promise!

EDNBM...
HON.

Mary...have fun on your break too. Get some major rest!

Deb...like I've said to everyone, "Don't worry, I'll be fine!" Thanks mom.

PE...no way. I'm sure they are sooo happy not to see me for the next 3 weeks. Have a Merry Christmas!

hooray for vacation!!! you deserve it, girl!!!

have a merry xmas & happy new year--let's make plans to hang out & have more good eats after the new year, ok?

and LOL at the drawing--don't worry, you are MUCH cuter than that; instead of pixelizing your face in your post pics now, you should just photoshop that drawing on top of it.

take care! =)

Same to you DG. Are you guys going back up north for Christmas? Ooooh, your first Christmas as a married couple! Congratulation! Yes, let's do something in January. I think D and I will have a quiet month since both of us will be catching up on our travel costs.

And I like you're idea of photoshopping a drawn face over mine..but not that picture. It stinks! DO I freegin have ashy gray skin??? haha. Anyways, take care girl. Miss you!

happy holidays jeni and have fun in warmer climes!!! take lots of pics and eat some llama!

Central America? Wow woman, you're a world traveler. Can't wait to see what you ate there! Happy Holidays.

Jeni said...

Rameniac...I haven't seen any llamas here. I'm in Flores right now, Guatemala's northern jungle area and supposedly their local game includes tepescuintle (agouti, a rabbit sized rodent) or armadillo. Im gonna try and see if I can find it. The weather here is perfect. I heart the smell of sunscreen!

TAG...long time no talk. How are you doing??? Not much to eat in Guatemala. A lot of tacos and pupusas from their Mexican and Salvadoran neighbors. I'm hoping for some better meals in Belize. Anyways, have a Happy New Year!

I totally agree with DG - although you may even want to consider making that sketch your profile pic... it is so flattering :)
